Here we have a delightful, affordable upland gun from AyA, one of Spain’s premier gunmakers well known the world over for making solid, well finished guns. From the AyA website: The N° 3 has been AYA’s standard boxlock design since 1960. It is modelled on a Westley Richards boxlock action, brought to Spain by the King brothers. The Anson & Deeley action, the most famous of all boxlock designs, was created by two employees of Westley Richards in 1875, and ever since, Westley Richards guns have defined boxlock elegance. This AyA, sn514897 built in 1978, is a fine upland gun indeed! Weighing a scant 5lbs. 9oz. and balanced perfectly just ahead of the hinge pin, you can carry this gun all day with little fatigue. The 20ga. chambering is known to be deadly on pheasants, grouse, quail, dove, woodcock and clays. The gun is in 99% condition. The 27" barrels are tight on the hinge and breech face, have mirror bores, tight ribs, 99% blue, and are choked a most useful M/F with 2 ¾” chambers. The receiver retains 99% vivid bone and charcoal case color with hand chiseled borders and is in perfect mechanical condition with crisp double triggers, auto safety, and perfect screws, this AyA features extractors, so you’ll always know where your empties are! The guns European Walnut showcases super nice flat top 24DPI checkering, nice figure throughout with fiddleback evident on the stock, wood to metal fit is outstanding and exemplifies AyA’s dedication to true craftsmanship. These are known to be supremely reliable guns, and this one is light as a feather and perfectly balanced. This AyA Model 3 is very affordable for a hand-engraved, hand-checkered gun.
